1.LTTE யை தமிழர்கள் அனைவரும் ஈழநாட்டு விடுதலை புலிகள் ராணுவம் என்றே அழைப்போம்.

2.இந்திய சில பாதுகாப்பு காரணங்களுக்காகவே மட்டுமே இலங்கை உதவி செய்கிறது.
ஆனால் மறைமுகமாக ஈழத்தை ஆதரவு செய்கிறது.
உதாரணம் : ரகசியமான உத்தரவின் பேரில் LTTE தலைவர்கள் தப்பி செல்லும் போது
கண்டும் காணமலும் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று ரோந்து கப்பல்களுக்கு உத்தரவு இடப்பட்டுள்ளது(சான்று நக்கிரன் பத்திரிகை ).ஈழத்தை தமிழர்களே வென்று எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறது.
அதனால் இந்தியாவிடமும் கோரிக்கைகளை வைத்து கொண்டே இருப்போம்

3. இன்று மக்கள் வெள்ளை மாளிகை முன்பும் ,பாராளுமன்றம் முன்பு போராட்டம் நடத்துகிறார்கள் ,இதற்கு பதிலாக அனைத்து செய்தி உடகங்கள் அலுவலகத்தின் முன்பு போராடுவோம் !!!!!!!!!!!!! ஈழ பிரச்சனை தானாகவே எல்லா நாட்டிற்கும் சென்று விடும்.

4.அதேபோல் நாம் எல்லோர் கையிலும் ஈழ விடுதலைக்கு போராடின அனைத்து தலைவர்கள் உருவ படம் ஏந்துவோம்.செல்வநாயகம் ,திலிபன் மற்றும் போராட்ட தியாகிகள் அனைவர் படமும்.

I read this article today by John pilger who is a popular journalist.
I thought it was well written.
As we long suspected some of the tactics by sinhala army on torturing the tamil youths are probably learnt from Isreal.

only one point should be clarified ,he was talking about Tamils imported from India during British colonial era.
That might give a false impression that Eelam Tamils are recent immigrants from India.
but,he again talks about centuries of cultural ties between Tamils of India and Tamils of Srilanka.

Distant Voices, Desperate Lives

In the early 1960s, it was the Irish of Derry who would phone late at night, speaking in a single breath, spilling out stories of discrimination and injustice. Who listened to their truth until the violence began? Bengalis from what was then East Pakistan did much the same. Their urgent whispers described terrible state crimes that the news ignored, and they implored us reporters to “let the world know.” Palestinians speaking above the din of crowded rooms in Bethlehem and Beirut asked no more. For me, the most tenacious distant voices have been the Tamils of Sri Lanka, to whom we ought to have listened a very long time ago.

It is only now, as they take to the streets of western cities, and the persecution of their compatriots reaches a crescendo, that we listen, though not intently enough to understand and act. The Sri Lankan government has learned an old lesson from, I suspect, a modern master: Israel. In order to conduct a slaughter, you ensure the pornography is unseen, illicit at best. You ban foreigners and their cameras from Tamil towns like Mulliavaikal, which was bombarded recently by the Sri Lankan army, and you lie that the 75 people killed in the hospital were blown up quite willfully by a Tamil suicide bomber. You then give reporters a ride into the jungle, providing what in the news business is called a dateline, which suggests an eyewitness account, and you encourage the gullible to disseminate only your version and its lies. Gaza is the model.

From the same master class you learn to manipulate the definition of terrorism as a universal menace, thus ingratiating yourself with the “international community” (Washington) as a noble sovereign state blighted by an “insurgency” of mindless fanaticism. The truth and lessons of the past are irrelevant. And having succeeded in persuading the United States and Britain to proscribe your insurgents as terrorists, you affirm you are on the right side of history, regardless of the fact that your government has one of the world’s worst human rights records and practices terrorism by another name. Such is Sri Lanka.

This is not to suggest that those who resist attempts to obliterate them culturally if not actually are innocent in their methods. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have spilt their share of blood and perpetrated their own atrocities. But they are the product, not the cause, of an injustice and a war that long predates them. Neither is Sri Lanka’s civil strife as unfathomable as it is often presented: an ancient religious-ethnic rivalry between the Hindu Tamils and the Buddhist Sinhalese government.

Sri Lanka as British-ruled Ceylon was subjected to a classic divide-and-rule. The British brought Tamils from India as virtual slave labor while building an educated Tamil middle class to run the colony. At independence in 1948, the new political elite, in its rush for power, cultivated ethnic support in a society whose real imperative should have been the eradication of poverty. Language became the spark. The election of a government pledging to replace English, the lingua franca, with Sinhalese was a declaration of war on the Tamils. The new law meant that Tamils almost disappeared from the civil service by 1970; and as “nationalism” seduced parties of both the left and right, discrimination and anti-Tamil riots followed.

The formation of a Tamil resistance, notably the LTTE, the Tamil Tigers, included a demand for a state in the north of the country. The response of the government was judicial killing, torture, disappearances, and more recently, the reported use of cluster bombs and chemical weapons. The Tigers responded with their own crimes, including suicide bombing and kidnapping. In 2002, a ceasefire was agreed, and was held until last year, when the government decided to finish off the Tigers. Tamil civilians were urged to flee to military-run “welfare camps”, which have become the symbol of an entire people under vicious detention, and worse, with nowhere to escape the army’s fury. This is Gaza again, although the historical parallel is the British treatment of Boer women and children more than a century ago, who “died like flies,” as a witness wrote.

Foreign aid workers have been banned from Sri Lanka’s camps, except the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has described a catastrophe in the making. The United Nations says that 60 Tamils a day are being killed in the shelling of a government-declared “no-fire zone.”

In 2003, the Tigers proposed a devolved Interim Self-Governing Authority that included real possibilities for negotiation. Today, the government gives the impression it will use its imminent “victory” to “permanently solve” the “Tamil minority problem,” as many of its more rabid supporters threaten. The army commander says all of Sri Lanka “belongs” to the Sinhalese majority. The word “genocide” is used by Tamil expatriots, perhaps loosely; but the fear is true.

India could play a critical part. The south Indian state of Tamil Nadu has a Tamil-speaking population with centuries of ties with the Tamils of Sri Lanka. In the current Indian election campaign, anger over the siege of Tamils in Sri Lanka has brought hundreds of thousands to rallies. Having initially helped to arm the Tigers, Indian governments sent “peacekeeping” troops to disarm them. Delhi now appears to be allowing the Sinhalese supremacists in Colombo to “stabilize” its troubled neighbor. In a responsible regional role, India could stop the killing and begin to broker a solution.

The great moral citadels in London and Washington offer merely silent approval of the violence and tragedy. No appeals are heard in the United Nations from them. David Miliband has called for a “ceasefire”, as he tends to do in places where British “interests” are served, such as the 14 impoverished countries racked by armed conflict where the British government licenses arms shipments. In 2005, British arms exports to Sri Lanka rose by 60 percent. The distant voices from there should be heard, urgently.

One minor point to be clarified: In Sri Lanka (Ceylon) there are indigenous Tamils and Indian Tamils or they are called Upcountry/hill country Tamils. The latter were brought into the country as indentured labour by the Brits. They were disenfranchised by the Sinhala state and during Srimavo Bandaranaike’s reign many Hill country Tamils were pathetically repatriated to India like cattle!! Yet they slaved in the hills from morn to dusk, bringing foreign currency to the country.
It is the indigenous Tamils in the North and East who are struggling for Self-determination. They say, they want live with freedom and dignity in their traditional homelands without persecution and discrimination and killing squads.

Israel has indeed been, in recent years, a firm ally and arms supplier for the central Government in Sri Lanka. I do not doubt for an instant that the Israelis have aided and abetted this campaign of mass slaughter, bringing their undoubted expertise at murder and demonisation of despised untermenschen to the assistance of a similar regime. The Sri Lankan Government, however, lacks two essential attributes that Israel possesses and which make its malignancy unique in current world affairs. Whereas Israel completely controls the US political and media apparatus, the Sri Lankan Government is just one of many fascist supplicants at the Imperial Court. And whereas the Judaic Lobby can instantly and fanatically denounce and vilify the criticism of any Israeli crimes as ‘anti-Semitism’ and rely on masses of morally insane toadies to screech their echoing response, the Sri Lankans won’t get far peddling ‘anti-Sinhalism’ as a new verity. For a start I imagine their Israeli friends would not appreciate anyone else using one of their favourite tactics, one bequeathed to them alone, by God Himself, apparently.

I ,as a daughter of eelam,love my homeland and the love comes from my heart.
I have seen and experienced the cruelty of the sinhala racist supermacy and it's policies.
I am not a blind worshipper of tigers.
My political opinion was formed during the tender years of my childhood while witnessing the occupation of my homeland by the sinhala army and the mayhem they inflicted on our people.
I , like many other eelam tamils am helplessly witnessing the carnage and death of our kith and kin in the vanni killingfield.

If you criticise tigers I can accept it. I have never said tigers are hundred percent perfect,
but they are not aliens ,they are part and parcel of our
Tamil community.they are our brothers and sisters who took up arm for a political purpose.

For your information, I have a busy job,and little time to spare but , out of concern and because I still have some humanity left in me ,I have been expressing my thoughts and feelings .
I can only laugh at your comment about 'paid/not paid'
people don't have to be paid (I mean normal people ,genuine people ) for loving their own mother.

ஈழ மக்களின் சுய நிர்ணயப் போராட்டம் தோல்வியின் விளிம்பை எட்டியதற்கு கிட்டத்தட்ட நாம் அனைவருமே பொறுப்பேற்க வேண்டும். அந்த மக்களின் உரிமைகளை, அவர்தம் அரசியல் அபிலாசைகளை உலகின் பிற பகுதியினருக்கு (தமிழ் நாட்டிலேயே கூட சிறு விழுக்காட்டினருக்குத்தான் அதன் பின்னணி தெரியும்) விளக்கிச் சொல்லத் தவறியிருக்கிறோம்.

புலி ஆதரவு அல்லது எதிர்ப்பு என்ற நிலைகளைக் கடந்து மானுடம் சார்ந்து அங்கே அரங்கேறும் அவலத்தின் ஆழத்தை அணுகாமல் போயிருக்கிறோம். இந்திய ஊடக மற்றும் ராஜதந்திர பலத்தினால் சுய நிர்ணயப் போராட்டம் நசுக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது என்றாலும், சர்வதேச சமுதாயத்தின் அங்கீகாரத்தைப் பெற நாம் எந்த அளவு (இடைவிடாமல்) பிரயத்தனப்பட்டோம் என்பதும் ஒதுக்க முடியாத கேள்வி.

இலங்கை அரசை பல முறை பேச்சுவார்த்தைக்கு இழுத்து வந்தது புலிகளின் இராணுவ பலம்தான் என்றாலும், உரிமைப் போர் வெல்வதற்கு இராணுவ பலம் மட்டுமே போதாது. (அதற்காக அகிம்சைப் போராட்டம் சிங்கள எஜமானர்களை பேச்சு மேசையில் இழுத்து அமர வைக்கும் என்றல்ல) கூடவே ராஜதந்திர பலமும் முக்கியம். எனக்கென்னவோ பாலசிங்கத்தின் மறைவு சமாதானத் தீர்வின் மரணமாகவும் கருதப்பட வேண்டிய ஒன்று எனப் படுகிறது. ஒரு சில தனி நபர்களை முன்னிலைப்படுத்திய, அவர்களை மட்டுமே நம்பிய அமைப்புகளின் கதி இவ்வாறே முடிகிறது.

புலம் பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்களை விடுத்து, இன்றைக்கு ஈழத்தில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்து, இன்னமும் உயிரோடிருக்கும் இளம் தலைமுறையினரில் பாலசிங்கம் போல கல்வி மற்றும் அரசியல் அறிவு நிறைந்தோர் எத்தனை பேர் உள்ளனர் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியவில்லை.

புலிகள் முற்றிலுமாக ஒழிக்கப்படும் நிலையில் (இதன் சாத்தியம் குறித்து சிலர் கவலைப்படலாம்) தமிழர்களுக்கு பிராந்திய அதிகாரமும், ராஜீவ் காந்தி கையெழுத்திட்ட ஒப்பந்தம் என்று காங்கிரஸ்காரர்கள் சொல்வது போல வடக்கு-கிழக்கு பகுதிகளை இணைத்து தமிழ் மாநிலம் அமைப்பதற்கும் இலங்கை அரசு இறங்கி வராது. வடக்கு தேவானந்தாவுக்கும், கிழக்கு பிள்ளையானுக்கும் என்பது கூட கனவே. மட்டக்களப்பு ஒருவருக்கு, அம்பாறை ஒருவருக்கு, யாழ்ப்பாணம் ஒருவருக்கு, மன்னார் ஒருவருக்கு என தமிழர் தாயகம் ஐந்தாறாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டாலும் ஆச்சரியப்பட முடியாது.

இறுதிப் போர் முடிந்த பிறகு கை. கால் இழந்திருக்கும் இனம் முறையான கல்வி பெற்று தமது குரலை மேலெடுக்கவே 20-30 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகும். தமிழ் தேசிய சிந்தனை அப்போது பலம் பெறலாம். ஒரு வேளை சமஷ்டி/கூட்டாட்சித் தீர்வு என்பது அப்போது நடக்கலாம். அதுவும் முற்போக்கான சிங்கள அரசியல் தலைமை அமைந்தால் மட்டுமே அது நடக்கும்.

ஆனால் அதையெல்லாம் விட, அவர்கள் உயிரோடு இருக்க வேண்டும். அதுதான் முக்கியம்.

தற்போதைய சூழ்நிலையில் இந்த விவாதங்களை விட இந்தப் போர் நிறுத்தப்படவும், மக்கள் அமைதியாக வாழ நம்மால் முடிந்ததை செய்வதே முக்கியம். ஒரு பேரவலம் நிகந்து கொண்டிருக்கிற சூழ்நிலையில் என் மனதில் தோன்றியதை எழுதினேன். அவ்வளவு தான்.

நான் ஏற்கனவே கூறியிருந்தது போல நான் என்னுடைய வாழ்க்கைப் பாதையில் கடந்து செல்லும் நிகழ்வுகளைக் கொண்டே என் கருத்துக்களை அனுபவத்தால் அமைத்துக் கொள்கிறேன். ஒவ்வொருவரின் வாழ்க்கை தான் அவரவரின் கருத்துக்களை தீர்மானிக்கிறது. வாழ்க்கைப் பாதையில் என் கருத்தக்கள் மாற்றம் பெறலாம். தெளிவு பெறலாம். குழம்பியும் போகலாம். நாளைக்கே வேறு கருத்துக்கு நான் வந்தடையலாம். அது எனது வாழ்க்கை எனக்கு தரும் பாடம். அனுபவம்.

ஒவ்வொருவரின் வாழ்க்கையும் வேறு வேறான பாதையில் தான் பயணிக்க முடியும். நான் நினைப்பது தான் சரி என்ற இறுமாப்போ, மற்றவர்கள் அனைவரும் நினைப்பது தவறு என்றோ நான் சொல்ல வில்லை. நான் எனக்கு சரி என நினைக்கும் வழியில் சென்று கொண்டிருப்பேன். அது எப்பொழுதும் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட, ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களைச் சார்ந்தாகவே இருக்கும். எந்தப் பிரச்சனையிலும் நான் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்கள் பக்கம் தான்.

உங்களது முந்தைய பதிவுக்கே பதில் எழுதியாக வேண்டும் எனத் தோன்றியது. ஆனாலும் அதில் பலனிருக்குமா, புரிந்து கொள்வீர்களா என்பது சந்தேகமாக இருந்ததால் எழுதவில்லை.

தற்போது வன்னியிலுள்ள சூழல் ஒப்பிட முடியாததாயினும், வன்னியில் வாழ்ந்து, குண்டு மழைகளிலிருந்து தப்பி வந்தவர்களில் நானும் ஒருவர். இலங்கை இராணுவம், இந்திய இராணுவம் எல்லாவற்றையும் அனுபவித்த உரிமையில் இதை எழுதத் தோன்றியது.

Sasi - I can understand your feelings. Reaction to a problem or situation can be different. Your reaction is of one type. Mine is of a different kind though. I believe that the civilians who are in the rebel areas are staying there at their own will. If this is not the case, Sri Lanka will jump their guns to send independent journalists into the area and would have released several interviews from people from the zone. Kannaal Kaanbathum Poi, Kaathaal Ketpathum Poi, Theera Visarippathe Mei. So I request you to talk to some Lankan Tamils who have relatives there and ask for first hand information.

Civilians who cross to army-held-areas cannot talk freely. Any sign of sympathy to rebels will seal their future. Therefore they are forced to give statements.

Again - You see this situation as an end, but I see this as a new begening. A begining where we - the Tamil Nadu Tamils (along with our Indian brothers) will carry forward the freedom movement and achieve it. Yes. If we Tamils from Tamil Nadu pursue this, without any further loss of lives, we can create an independent Tamil Eelam. I firmly believe that my life is not important than a free and dignified life for my children.

Again - The SLA is indiscrimately shelling into the area with the hope that the war fatigue will make the civilians flee. That has not happened yet, much to the frustration of Rajapakse. Without barbed wires or anything of that sort, this many people cannot be contained by a bunch of rebels. SLA builds barbed wires across all its internment centers to contain the people. Does this not give a hint on who is holding people and who is not?. Those who were reported as crossed earlier to army-areas, were actually coerced by the Army.

Also the rebels are actually in Shock that the international community and India has not stopped this carnage. Everyday they are hoping that a ceasefire will be announced. Because they truly believe that World will not let their freedom movement be crushed.

LTTE had squandered multiple times to reach a amicable peaceful situation. The so called intelligentsia has failed to influence the LTTE leadership towards a peaceful agreement. Inorder to protect tigers and few meters of land, we are ready to sacrifice so many innocent lives in our so called tamil eelam. Because i am safe, i have settled, my family is in a good country. Now my hobby is writing blogs against srilankan attrocity. May be i can sacrifice one or two weekdays in rally. my aim is to teach a lesson to sinhalans. thats all. i dont care about who are in a painful situation. B'se they are very poor, they are illiterates, they didnt have the ability to escape to a foregin country like me. so whatever i wish from here, they have to go with accordingly.
